Written by Maurice Williams, lead singer of The Gladiolas, whose version made the Top 50 on
the R&B charts.. Name changed to Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs, and they charted
the classic `Stay` at # 1 in 1960.

Peaked at # 2 in 1957
The Diamonds` all-time biggest hit, featuring lead singer Dave Somerville (with Bill Reed
doing the
bass vocal narration). Technically, this could be considered one of the very first `rap`
songs, since
it features hip narration over the middle break of the song. Cover version of the Gladiolas`
1957
Top 50 R&B hit. This pop version also made the Top 5 on the R&B charts.
