British soul singer and multi-Grammy award winning artist, Adele, announced on her website Friday (6/29) that she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are expecting their first child together.
“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” she wrote. “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time.”
Adele who stole the show at the Grammy’s this year with her sophomore album, 21, which sold over 9 million records in the United States alone and has been in the top 10 for 70 consecutive weeks, admitted to Vogue magazine in February that she is up for an extended break.
According to the LA Times, Adele wrote on her blog soon after her interview that, “I’ve a few days off now, and then it’s the Brit Awards here at home and then I’m straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!”
It looks like the singer will be busy with a baby and a new album on the way.
