Best Coast Collaboration and Cover NewsIt looks like Best Coast is keeping it busy. With the release of their second album, The Only Place, in May, the duo, comprised of Bethany Cosentino (vocals, guitar) and Bobb Bruno (multi-instrumentalist), has recently released a cover that the surf-band did of Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 hit, Rhiannon. The track will be featured on a forthcoming tribute album, titled, Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, to be available on August 14.
NPR reports that The New Pornographers’ version of Think About Me is already out, while other album participants include Antony Hegarty, MGMT, Marianne Faithfull, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, St. Vincent, Lykke Li, The Kills, and many others.
In other Best Coast-news, Iggy Pop and Bethany Cosentino are contributing their vocals to a song, called Let’s Boot and Rally, for the HBO vampire drama, True Blood, which will be featured in the show’s July 8 episode.
Past True Blood collaborations previously featured Neko Case and Nick Cave.
The Best Coast and Iggy pop song will premiere July 5 on KCRW.
