Bob Dylan to Release New Album ‘Tempest’ on September 11thThe Tempest is known as the title to Shakespeare’s final play, but it might be soon recognized for Bob Dylan’s long awaited forthcoming LP release. According to Rolling Stone, Columbia Records has announced that Bob Dylan’s new studio album, called Tempest will be released on September 11th, 2012.
Dylan, 71, who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom back in May, is also known for contributing to a whole era of American music in the ‘60s, propelling the protest songwriting movement, winning multiple Grammys and an Oscar along the way.
Dylan continues to tour rigorously. He wraps up his European summer tour on July 22nd. Up next are North America tour dates beginning in August 10th in Lloydminster, Alberta, ending in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 9th (two days before Tempest drops). There are also rumors that another tour is in the works for the new album in November with special guest Mark Knopfler.
