Internet Troll Sending Pitbull to Kodiak Island, AlaskaMy Nguyen July 3, 2012
As a part of a contest launched by Walmart, the franchise is planning to send Pitbull to the store with the most likes on its Facebook.
As a joke, David Thorpe, a Boston Phoenix writer and contributor to the popular humorist site Something Awful, has launched an Internet campaign to send Pitbull to the most isolated store he could find: a Walmart located on an island off the southern coast of Alaska called Kodiak Island.
As of today, the facebook page has garnered over 35,000 “likes” and has spawned a Twitter campaign called #ExilePitbull.
A Walmart spokesperson told the Miami Herald about Pitbull’s possible appearance on the Alaskan island: “He’s definitely coming to Kodiak if Kodiak wins.”
According to Rolling Stone, Pitbull remains a good sport throughout this staged performance, tweeting, “I hear there’s bear repellant at Kodiak, Alaska” and adding the # ExilePitbull hashtag.
