Music CameosIn today’s news, a few notorious acts within the music scene are making cameos in other various media outlets.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, PepsiCo has struck a deal with the Michael Jackson estate to use the late pop icon’s image on a series of soda cans for the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s album Bad. The one billion soda cans that will carry Jackson’s image are a part of the soft drink company’s Live for Now campaign.
The trade music magazine also reports that Pepsi is working with Sony Music and the Jackson estate to create new mixes of songs from Bad to share with fans as part of the project.
Limited edition 16 oz. cans bearing the image of the singer will also be distributed alongside the normal cans.
Other musicians shape shifting within the industry are the dynamic duo to The Black Keys, Dan Aurbach and Patrick Carney, who will be guest-starring in an episode of Comedy Central’s Workaholics to be aired early this summer, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Already great fans of the show, Auergbach and Carney, met and befriended Adam Devine, who stars in the show and is a mutual admirer of theirs.
Workaholics featured The Black Keys’ Lonely Boy in an episode last fall. Season 3 will be starting May 20.
