Tupac-Inspired Holograms; Marilyn Monroe Avatar Up NextIt seems like ever since Tupac Shakur’s hologram took the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April to perform alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre that a slew of star-resurrected projections are currently on the backburner to shortly becoming actualized. It might just take copyright laws to hinder these Tupac-inspired holograms from becoming realized.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that a Marilyn Monroe concert is under the works, scheduled to take place before the year’s end with the working title, Virtual Marilyn Live – A Musical Celebration of the Birth of the Pop Icon. The projection of the Some Like it Hot-actress will be singing and interacting alongside live music stars.
According to Prefix magazine, legal complications might end up being a huge setback for Digicon Media, who allegedly started the celebrity avatar business in 1995, has decided not to work with the Monroe estate because the hologram company has the copyright on the starlet’s computer-generated self.
